Cheap server transfers (intra-region is 90 CC, between EU and US is 150 CC) will continue for the foreseeable future, with at least a week’s warning when (if?) their original prices are restored.
Game Update 5.1: Defend the Throne was deployed on Tuesday.
Patch 5.1a was deployed on Thursday afternoon to add the five new Uprisings to the Group Finder.
Command Tokens for previously obtained Command Crates are granted to a given character when they log in.
The change to Bolster in Warzones (from item rating 250 to 232) was made to ensure that the Bolstered level wasn’t higher than the best gear in the game (currently item rating 242).
BioWare held “A Look Ahead Livestream” on Thursday afternoon, with a follow-up post summarising what was discussed, which included the announcement of Game Update 5.2: The War for Iokath which includes a story arc culminating in a daily area, and the first boss (Tyth) of a five-boss Operation. The class companions Quinn (Sith Warrior) and Elara (Trooper) will return as part of the story arc.
It has been officially confirmed that Carrie Fisher will not reprise her role as Princess or General Leia Organa as a digital puppet.

There was server-side maintenance on Tuesday, ahead of next week’s deployment of Game Update 5.1.
The Ranked PvP Season 7 top 96 titles have been issued to the winning characters, now that the wheat has been sorted from the dirty cheating chaff.
An exploit is known to exist with the first boss in the Fracture Uprising exploit, which will be fixed in Game Update 5.1.
The DvL meta achievements (for each of the 6 tiers) will be returned with Game Update 5.1 to those players who earned them.
A series of posts explained the Galactic Command gearing changes coming in Game Update 5.1, which operations will drop which Unassembled Gear Piece, how to earn and spend Unassembled Components, and how to convert Unassembled Gear Pieces into gear.

After Game Update 5.1 is deployed on 24 January, the lass boss of an operation is guaranteed to drop an unassembled gear piece for a specific slot, with the bosses leading up to the last boss having an increasing chance of dropping an unassembled gear piece for a random slot.
The discipline your character has determines what type (tank, DPS or healer) of gear you will receive.
The top 96 players of the various Advanced Classes will be finalised by Game Update 5.1 as BioWare eliminates those players from the running who were cheating.
Last Tuesday 20 December was SWTOR’s 5 year anniversary.

Early access to Knights of the Eternal Throne has begun with the deployment of Game Update 5.0 on Tuesday.
BioWare reminds us what to do if you encounter an exploit (particularly one to do with obtaining CXP). One such issue that could have been exploited was discovered and quickly remedied by a brief maintenance.
If you have yet to receive your credits from the currency conversion, they will be delivered in Saturday’s maintenance.
This thread on the official forums summarises the known issues with Game Update 5.0.
While the pre-order bonus companion Shae Vizla is currently customisable by equipping gear, this is a bug and will eventually be remedied.
