OotiniCast Episode 292 — 1 Comment

  1. Ironically, I was listening to the show just now in a ranked PvP match when the segment about the new gearing options was being discussed. I felt the need to comment after Illeva’s rank against PvP. I was on Jung Ma server but have moved to Ebon Hawk because PvP wasn’t much of an option on a dead server. I waited awhile to get into the ranked PvP match that I was in when I heard her words spoken about PvP players. I guess up until this point I never considered myself a “PvP player” as opposed to an “operations player.” I just considered myself a SWTOR player. Since the new command system dropped I did my first operation and really enjoyed it. But I often play without the benefit of a large social network of friends or with the benefit of a large guild. PvP allows me to be social and still enjoy the game. I wish I had the opportunity to team up with many friends and do operations, but that has not been my experience. I suppose what I am trying to state is that I found her comments arrogant, unnecessary, and divisive in that they promoted a clear US vs THEM when I think it is better to encourage the enjoyment of all aspects of the game. The new command system has helped me to do operations, so I approve of how Bioware is moving the game. I hope they don’t ruin this trend by listening to “hate speech” issued from those who would restore the “US vs THEM” (PvP players vs Operations players) environment of the game. I still love the show though!
