2. Tip of the week

The Excel spreadsheet that @GregCarter78 uses to track which datacrons he’s obtained across his various characters is provided here, in case you’d like to adapt it for you own use. Thanks Greg!

Congratulations to this week’s winner, Thoss!

Please send your tips to ootinicast@gmail.com by next Wednesday for a chance to win a Tawnfaun code, courtesy of BioWare, and an OotiniCast-provided Cartel Market pack from the latest shipment.

3. Holofeed

  • Game Update 2.3.2 was deployed on Wednesday morning (US time) during an extended downtime, due to problems with the new feature that would allow Cartel Coins to be purchased in-game (which was disabled pending its eventual fix).
  • Next week (Tuesday 10 September through Tuesday 17 September, Bounty Contract Week returns for the second time. It begins and ends at 5am CDT, 11am BST, 8pm AEST.
  • The two items that were listed in the Collections UI as being in the Freelancer’s and Contractor’s Bounty Packs, but not actually in the packs, will be effectively made available to all (sold for 1 credit from the Bounty Supply Reputation Vendor, though with no reputation requirement).
  • An issue that was preventing Cartel Coins from being granted for some achievements has been corrected, and the Cartel Coins retrospectively granted to those who missed out.
  • BioWare has partnered with MMORPG.com to do a promotion of ranked warzone arenas called Galactic Guild Battles, involving guilds willing to field teams to livestream their play on Twitch between September 12th and October 17th, with separate times for US and European servers. Each team requires 6 players (4 primary and 2 alternate). Applications close on September 8th!

A SWTOR-themed thumbdrive was included, and time it contained a single file, which was a teaser video for the Super Secret Space Project!

OotiniCast Episode 97 — 7 Comments

  1. I regularly listen to a few other weekly SWTOR podcasts/videocasts, but enjoy your show the most.

While eagerly waiting for your latest podcast I decided to do a search of ALL the Swtor podcasts there as ever been.

This is what I learned: 2 years ago there were a crap ton of SWTOR podcasts. Dozens and dozens. Now, most of them are gone or their podcasts are very infrequent.

Of the podcasts that are left, I believe you guys have the Highest Consistent Quality. You have a strong Site with Great Hosts and good regular guests and contributors. Audio quality is much better than most of the others too. You have engaging chats and a consistent format that entertains throughout the show. I like that there are usually more discussions than childish Rants and that usually someone plays devil’s advocate for additional perspective.

Other shows/sites might be more well known, but yours is the best for a gamer who loves SWTOR.

I love Friday’s at work, because that is when I listen to your show.

May the Cartel Coins be with you!

  2. Hi guys.
Alas, I don’t have a tip of the week. But I sure could use a tip to answer this challenge…. How do I find the body?
I primarily play a Scoundrel Sawbones, level 55. I have moderate success at keeping myself and others in PUG groups alive, but I have yet to begin running any Hardmode ops, as I’m still only in 66-mods.
Anyway, on those occasions when another party member dies, I have as one of my abilities an “in combat” revival. I have only used this on a few occasions, much to the dismay of my group members, due to my problem….which is…. How do I find the body?
I’m running around throwing heals at the remaining 2 players, blaster bolts are flying, lightsabers are flashing, monsters are jumping up an down, the screen is shaking, I’m starting to take damage…and I have to somehow find where the dead player body is located, get close enough, click on the body, then hit the revive button. And he will need massive heals when he/she pops back active. What are the tricks to getting this done? The mini map does not seem to be adequate to the vector I need.
(What we need is a “red” light of death shooting into the heavens like we have for other objects, then I could maneuver to towards that).
Hope you guys have some thoughts.
Look forward to your shows each week. Keep up the great work. I’ll buy an Ootini mug for my coffee when you have them ready!!
    Tim (Gasguy192)

  3. Quote of the Week 97: ‘Are you getting faster using a telephone keypad as a result’? -Hyp asking Teo about his Naga skills

Yeah Hyp the naga does make you faster on a phone keypad; but only when holding it sideways.
