3. The Holofeed

• Patch 1.6.1 was deployed during Tuesday’s regular maintenance.
• BioWare announces SWTOR’s first expansion, “Rise of the Hutt Cartel”.
  • It can be pre-ordered from www.swtor.com/buy now for $US9.99 (50% off for subscribers) or $US19.99 (free/preferred status players).
  • If you pre-order before 7 January 2013, you’ll get 5 days of early access prior to the expansion’s release.
  • We were assured that top-end raiding gear will not be replaced by mission rewards while leveling from 50 to the new level cap of 55.
  • A new active ability will be provided for all Advanced Classes, along with 5 skill points (1 per level from 50-55) and revamped/updated skill trees.
  • There will not be class-specific stories; instead, there are two faction-specific stories.
  • The expansion will take place on a single planet, Makeb.
  • Some backstory was provided, explaining why Makeb’s people are seeking help from the Republic to fend off the conquering Hutt Cartel, and how the Empire hopes to take advantage of the conflict.
• Unfortunately, dual-/multi-spec remains a distant dream.
• The leg component of Revan’s robes, available in the Blockade Runner Cartel Pack, is apparently not authentic (at least as far as Revan’s portrayal in KOTOR/SWTOR). This will be addressed soon.
• Damion Schubert (Lead Designer) has ackowledged that something went terribly wrong in the pricing on the Cartel Market of the three bundles containing Grade 7 starship upgrade. He went on to say that something will be done to fix the situation, though there’s no obvious solution that we could come up with.
