OotiniCast Episode 219 — 4 Comments

  1. Good lord you guys are negative. I dont think I heard a single positive remark about the game in that last podcast. Won’t be returning, you nearly made me noticibly depressed

    • Thanks for your feedback. Just out of curiosity, did you listen to the edited MP3, or watch the YouTube or Twitch version?

Ironically, given your comment, OotiniCast has always been generally optimistic and positive. It’s kind of what we’re known for. Listening back to 219, I don’t believe we were negative, though that’s obviously in the ear of the listener! My approach has always been pragmatic, constructive and as educated as possible commentary. We (at least Chill and I) will never bash the game or its developers; it’s just not in our personalities. Our guests can sometimes be more negative, though I usually cut anything too bad in post-production.

In terms of KotFE, I am skeptical of putting the spotlight so fully on story, with only vague hints that there’ll be more “MMO bits” coming late. I’m going to wait and see how it plays out, because I love SWTOR and Star Wars.

Best wishes for the future! May the Force serve you well.

  2. Love the show guys!! Would love if you could start a segment geared towards those of us who are relative “Ops” newbs. For example, maybe a segment on optimizing augments or on proper rotations, etc….

That being said, I checked out the speeder from the most recent Cantina pack and there are indeed 3 “easter eggs” or New Hope references!!! 1. as pointed out in the episode, the color of the speeder matches the X-Wings in a New Hope. 2. If you zoom in and look at the display in front of your character, it resembles the targeting computer on the trench run! 3. The dome of an R2 unit can be seen on the top of the speeder which, to me, bears a striking resemblance to our favorite astromech, R2-D2.

Thanks again for the great show. Your podcasts help make the commute to work a bit fun!!! Take care and May the Force be with you!!!
